Prom Dinner

My neighbor is a great kid. Him and his friends only could spend 20 a couple. We all that doesn’t go far. So I offered to host a dinner for him. He jumped at the chance and I jumped to the challenge. We had most of the glass and the stuff I didn’t have I bought at the dollar store.I used my mother’s china and chocolate fountain. It turned out great.

The dessert table was a hit. We had lots of treats to be dipped in the chocolate fountain and we also had a cake for the boy that had a birthday that day.Image

Most of the glass we already had. We also had the running already. The napkins gave a splash of color. We got some flowers and had them in the large jars. We also had limes cut in half in one of the jars. All the table decor was less than 10 dollars.ImageImage

We had wedge salad to start. Main course was Chicken Cordon Blue, bacon and green beans, cheese potatoes, and homemade rolls. For Dessert we had a cake for the birthday boy and a chocolate fountain with marshmallows, cookies, strawberries, bananas, pineapple, and homemade rice-crisps treats.5 couples=$100. It can be done.

We wrapped the railing with tulle and lights. They loved it out there. It was a warm night and the river was right out back

This dinner turned out great and we saved cash!

Spring bridal shower

This is an bridal shower from a while ago. Sometimes simple is best! We found these pink and white dot envelopes and they were so cute it ended up being the color theme of the party.

During spring and summer you can get great deals on flowers. For the tables we had pink potted plants with a ribbon but the small flower pots were table decorations and at the end of the party they took them home as their party gift. The silver mini pots were found at Ikea for 50 cents a pot. I wish I had taken more pictures but it was a prefect set up for a spring bridal shower!

Vintage Bridal Shower

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of throwing my new sister in-law to be a Bridal Shower.  It was an awesome opportunity. The best part was seeing the new addition excited for her up coming wedding! So much of the decor was from http://www.vintageironrentals.com

You can rent all of this off this website. It’s Utah based company but if you don’t live in Utah you can check if there is local businesses that are similar. Definitely check out beehivevintagerentals.comImageI love the vintage feel of things. This is simple. I rented the cages from http://www.vintageironrentals.com and added flowers and candy.ImageImageFelt flowers and twine is what the garland is made of.ImageThe white file box was also rented. It’s cute small piece.ImageThe banner and pictures was an idea I got from Pebbles in my Pocket. They have so many cute ideas in the store so if you get a chance definitely check it out. All of there produces are available online @ http://www.pebblesinmypocket.com/ImageImageThe front was also decorated. The table you can rent from http://beehivevintagerentals.com/ and the water can. The flowers gave color.ImageMy mom made this for the front door and gave it to her at the end for her house. So cute for a front door of a new home. It’s just an old frame from DI(goodwill), letters, paint, and lace.ImageThe tables came out great! The china was my mother’s (which everyone knows someone that has china). All the containers on the table are from beehivevintagerental. The mason jars that are colored were dyed by my sister to make sure there was color on the table. ImageThe flowers were from CostcoImage and that definitely keeps the cost down.ImageWhat’s a shower without food and lots of it! It was a brunch so we had a hash brown casserole and and green chili and egg casserole. Lots of fruit and mini muffins. Of course we had to have some cupcakes in the end. ImageMy sister made these cupcakes. She got the chocolate heart idea from pinterest. But it worked.ImageImageSimply added ribbon makes it a little more formal. It also added color.ImageIt was so fun putting this all together! I love the kids parties but this was different and so much fun! I hope you enjoyed and let me know if you liked it! Thanks so much http://www.vintageironrentals.com for making this party a success!
